What are the Odds?
Fat Chance vs. Slim Chance
The definitions are alike:
Fat Chance: "Very little or no chance"
Slim Chance: "Little or no chance of winning"
However, the tone is usually different!
Example: "We're going to win tonight!"
"Fat chance." (dismissive, doubtful, or sarcastic)
"There's a slim chance." (unlikely, but hopeful)

Differentiating Odds and Probability
Probability, odds, and ratios assess and predict outcomes... But, there are subtle differences in the expressions.
Example: Suppose we have a bowl with 1 white and 4 red marbles...
P(selecting red) = 4/5
P(selecting white) = 1/5
Odds for white ("in favor of white") = 1:4
Odds against white = 4:1 (we expect 4 reds for every 1 white)
